Job Description
• Administers RightFind, Otsuka’s global article ordering system. Establishes effective operations, policies, and procedures for the system and ensures efficient workflow and consistently positive user experience.
• Establishes and maintains access to electronic resources like online journals, standards, and ebooks in the electronic resource management system(s), ILS, and other discovery tools. Manages optimization of systems for the discovery and access of collections.
• Develops, maintains, and applies a thorough knowledge of best practices, efficient workflows, and tools in data management, discovery, and electronic resource management.
• Supports the acquisition of global online information resources. Works with IRC manager to regularly monitor and evaluate usage to ensure ROI.
• Provides customized information strategies, solutions, and services for internal clients globally to support business decisions in clinical development, business development, safety, regulatory, commercialization, and more. Works with clients to understand their information needs; uses specialized resources to conduct advanced research; evaluates, analyzes, synthesizes, and delivers quality results.
• Develops and contributes to global user training, key stakeholder engagement efforts and marketing other online resources and IRC services.
• Contributes to global online information portals assessment, licensing, and vendor management.
• Contributes to evaluation and deployment of new technology to augment department capabilities.
• Supports IRC department strategy and planning.
Qualifications Required
• Master’s Degree in Information Science/Library Science/Sciences
• 8-10 years of corporate information center experience, preferably in the pharmaceutical, biotech, or medical industry
• Proven ability to build and maintain effective relationships and partnerships with internal customers, global key stakeholders, and external vendors.
• Demonstrated experience with developing and enhancing operational policies and procedures.
• Strong ability to identify and solve problems effectively with creative or innovative solutions.
• Advanced knowledge of information management, organization, and search technologies
• Expertise with article ordering platforms such as RightFind or Reprints Desk.
• Expert capabilities with specialized pharmaceutical and business information resources such as Dialog, Ovid, Cortellis, Decision Resources, Datamonitor, Citeline products, EvaluatePharma, Factiva, Thomson One, Adis, and EBSCO
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively while adhering to well-defined and well-established departmental procedures and processes.
• Excellent written, oral, and interpersonal communication skills.
• Have initiative and proactively strive for superior customer services and outcomes.
• Ability to build and maintain effective relationships and partnerships with internal customers and external vendors.
• Adaptable, flexible, and able to balance multiple projects; ability to learn quickly and work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
Preferred
• Experience with tools for visualization, AI for text mining, semantic search, and similar technologies
• Experience with GeniePlus, EBSCO Publication Finder, EBSCO Fulltext Finder and EBSCOnet
• Degree in Sciences
