    The MLA | SLA 2023 Annual Conference is right around the corner (May 16-19) in Detroit.  Here are a few useful links and pieces of information. Taxonomy related events (that I am aware of) can be found at the end.

    Hotel and Transportation:
    MLA | SLA '23 will be held at Huntington Place, 1 Washington Blvd, Detroit, Michigan from May 16-19, 2023. The official MLA | SLA '23 hotels are the Detroit Marriott at the Renaissance Center and the Hotel Indigo Detroit Downtown (both approx. 21 miles from DTW airport). There are no airport shuttles available to the official hotels. Alternative options include:
    • Metro Cars (black car chauffeured service)
    • Metro Cab
    • Detroit People Mover Metro/Subway (attached to Renaissance Center complex)
    • Rideshare (Passenger pick-up inside the Big Blue Deck, Level 1 or McNamara Parking Garage, Level 4)
    Huntington Place is within walking distance of the Marriott Renaissance Center, but MLA | SLA will be providing round-trip transportation for MLA & SLA attendees through National Trails. Buses will be circling between the Marriott Renaissance Center, Hotel Indigo, and Huntington Place between the following hours:
    • Wednesday, May 17 | 6:30 a.m.–8:00 p.m.
    • Thursday, May 18 | 6:30 a.m.–9:30 p.m.
    • Friday, May 19 | 6:30 a.m.– 4:30 p.m.
    Marriott Renaissance Center: Buses will pick up and drop off directly in front of the main hotel entrance for Marriot Renaissance Center at 400 Renaissance Drive. Pick-up is streetside just outside of the valet drive.
    Hotel Indigo: Buses will pick up and drop off either right outside of the hotel or on Michigan Ave right at the corner of Washington Blvd.
    Registration:
    Your first stop might be the MLA | SLA '23 Registration Center sponsored by Wolters Kluwer located in the Huntington Place Atrium Lobby to:

    • Pick up your badge, ribbons, and meeting materials
    • Purchase additional/guest registrations if necessary

    • Tuesday, May 16 | 8:00 a.m.–6:00 p.m.
    • Wednesday, May 17 | 7:00 a.m.–6:00 p.m.
    • Thursday, May 18 | 7:00 a.m.–6:00 p.m.
    • Friday, May 19 | 7:00 a.m.–Noon
    Convention Center:
    WiFi should be available throughout the Convention Center
