Thanks for creating the poll, Heather! I'm on PTO this week but I will check to see the results!

HI Heather,
Thanks.
I assume you have the time zone wrong. Although it says Eastern, the lunch is 2:00 - 3:00 and the dinner is 9:00 - 10:00. Did you mean 12:00 - 1:00 and 7:00 - 8:00 pm?

I'm not going to conference this time around, but I missed the taxonomy dinner in Baltimore in 2018 because it was scheduled for the first night and I wasn't arriving till later that evening.
The first night may not be the best night for a lot of folks.
Just my two cents.
Sincerely,

That's right, the first night has been the most common date.
Unfortunately, since nothing was planned in advance, I booked my flight in on Sunday morning.
I tried to create a Doodle poll, but the application was default making me, the poll creator, available all of the days, and I am not available all days.
If anyone else on this list wants to attend a no-host taxonomist dinner in in Charlotte and is available at least Saturday - Monday nights and wishes to set up a Doodle poll for three nights, please do so.

Hi Heather,
I did put a Tax Division No-Host Dinner in the original presentation proposal, and it was accepted, but somehow it didn't make it on the schedule. I think we can plan something informally through SLA Connect, though, and once we decide on day/time/place we can put it in SLA Connect and/or Taxonomy Times, if we get that out in time.
I wouldn't mind sticking with the traditional first night -- a dinner at maybe 7:00 PM Saturday night. I'll be busy on Sunday and not sure when I'll be heading out on Tuesday, so Saturday night would be my first preference but I'm flexible!

Hi Heather H,
This is Heather K. I don't believe that a no-host dinner is scheduled for this year. Like you, I would love to join a meet up. The best times for me would be lunch on either Sunday, August 31, or Tuesday, August 2.
Who else is coming to Charlotte? Chime in if you are!

I think there is usually organized a no-host dinner by the Taxonomy Community, open to anyone interested, on one of the evenings of the conference. I have not heard of anything? I know attendance will be lighter, but dinner of even just four people together is still nice. In fact, when we have very large groups, spread out over two tables, we don't have the chance to talk with anyone. Will the Taxonomy Community organize it? I would like to attend.
