Who among us taxonomists are attending SLA in Charlotte in person?
In past years there was a conference Connect group, but there does not seem to be on this year, so it's difficult to know who will be there.
I will be there, and I am about to book my flights. Unless there will be a taxonomist networking event Saturday evening (which does not seem likely, since I have not heard anything), I will arrive on Sunday around noon and stay through Tuesday (noon or end of day).I'm willing to share my hotel room, if anyone want to cut costs. I've done that before. Email me directly if interested.-------In addition to three on-demand taxonomy-related talks, there are the following in-person taxonomy related sessions/events:Sunday, 3:20 - 4:05 pmThe Role of DEI in Taxonomy Development, Maintenance, Search, and RetrievalSunday, 4:30 - 5:30 pmPanel: Current challenges and advanced taxonomy topicsMonday, 5:00 - 6:00 pmTaxonomy Division Open Community Business MeetingAdditionally, I will speak on panel that's not specifically taxonomy focused, although I will speak about the taxonomy communityTuesday, 9:00 - 10:00 amCommunities of Practice: Where Everybody Knows Your NameBrowse or search the schedule here, for more detailshttps://www.eventscribe.net/2022/SLASourceForward/agenda.asp
Early-bird registration ends June 15.If your employer won't pay, consider one-day only, such as for Sunday (with opening keynote) for only $250 early-bird member price.
Hope to see some of you there.
