Big data needs controlled vocabularies to improve search, enable personalization and reporting, and more.  Get a quick overview of why and how people are using taxonomies or ontologies and linked data to manage and retrieve data.

Speaker: Camille Mathieu is an Information Science Specialist with the Jet Propulsion Laboratory's Beacon Library. Her work primarily focuses on organizational knowledge management, metadata development and standardization, intranet search improvement, and internal information organization. Camille holds a Master's degree in Library and Information Science from UCLA's Department of Information Studies, and her undergraduate work was in literature with an emphasis on Romanticism.
