SLA Toronto welcomes volunteers with all levels of availability to participate in building our professional community!

Executive Board
To volunteer on the Executive Board you must be a SLA member.

Membership Director - 2 year term
Duties include:
  • Attend monthly teleconferences for Board meetings
  • Provide brief report of duties performed for Board meetings
  • Send introductory emails to new members using a template
  • Send reminder emails to members who are approaching their membership end date using a template
  • Participate in other Board duties or projects as desired

Advisory Board
To volunteer on the Advisor Board you do not have to be a SLA member.

Archivist
Duties include:
  • Plan and execute an archival program for SLA Toronto
  • Communicate with Executive Board on decisions and actions in a timely manner

SLA Toronto West
Duties include:
  • Collaborate with the Programming Director to plan events in the areas of: Etobicoke, Hamilton, London, and other areas depending on availability and interest
  • Communicate with Executive Board on decisions and actions in a timely manner

New Information Professionals Program Coordinator
Duties include:
  • Collaborate with the Programming Director and First Five Years Director to plan events addressing the needs of new professionals
  • Communicate with Executive Board on decisions and actions in a timely manner

Registrar
Duties include:
  • Based on the event that you are volunteering for, arrive early to take attendance and assist with set up (if necessary)
  • This position is very flexible to your schedule and registrars attend the event they are volunteering at for free except for the Joint Holiday Social
  • Communicate with Executive Board on decisions and actions in a timely manner
