Hurst Associates, Ltd.

Jill Hurst-Wahl is a results-driven facilitator and project manager. For more than 25 years, she has worked with for-profit and not-for-profit organizations to help them brainstorm, generate ideas, innovate, and launch new products and services. Besides leading and organizing projects, Jill helps teams coordinate their activities, especially those things that are difficult to manage. For those who just need help surfacing ideas, Jill teaches brainstorming techniques (brief example) and leads sessions where participants envision new products or services.

Jill's background as a business researcher, who is known for finding hidden gems of information, contributes to her ability to be an unconventional thinker. She knows how to dig into a burgeoning idea, view it from different angles, investigate its nooks and crannies, and communicate an idea's components so others will get on board.

As president of Hurst Associates, Jill's consulting practice drew her to work with Syracuse University, where she is an associate professor of practice. For the last several years, she has led faculty/staff teams, face-to-face and virtual meetings, and academic programs at Syracuse University in its School of Information Studies.

Jill is the co-author of The Information and Knowledge Professional's Career Handbook: Define and Create Your Success, which she wrote with Ulla de Stricker. Jill has been an active blogger since 2004 on a range of topics, including innovation.
