In 2004, our chapter was honored by SLA’s Student & Academic Relations Committee for coming in second place in “Outstanding Chapter/Division Support” and was awarded a certificate of merit. Today, UNYSLA continues to provide support for students studying information science particularly via our Library School Chapter Liaisons and our Student Shadow program. To find out more about student resources and to learn what is specifically available at your school, see the SLA Student and Academic Affairs Advisory Council page. It contains details of SLA student scholarships, student chapters across the US, student group guidelines, etc. Also, feel free to contact your UNYSLA Library School Chapter Liaison found on our About UNYSLA page.
Student Shadows
Students interested in attending UNYSLA’s annual spring event may be able to attend for free if they are chosen as a student shadow. Student shadows help with set-up, introduce our presenters, and write a short article for the UNYSLA website. To apply for a Student Shadow role at an upcoming event, please fill out our Student Shadow Application here.
