VASLA's Purpose

Established in 1966, the Virginia Chapter of the Special Libraries Association is one of 58 regional chapters worldwide. We have a diverse membership, with Librarians and Information Professionals employed in many types of specialized libraries and organizations including law, business, university, school, medical, newspaper, museum, and military.

Membership benefits include:

–  Networking opportunities with other Chapter members.
–  Meetings/seminars on current topics in special librarianship.
–  Access to the Connect discussion list and second-tier, linked content.

The chapter’s archives are housed at the Library of Virginia (1966-1995) and at the Virginia Historical Society (1995-present).
